An Update has recently made waves centered around how WWE officials view Cameron Grimes. Grimes a former NXT North American Champion made his in-ring debut on Smackdown by stepping into the ring with Baron Corbin on May 12th, 2023.
Needless to say, Grimes's debut match against Corbin lasted mere seconds as Cameron Grimes picked up a victory over Corbin in the match-up almost immediately after the bell rang.
There has been speculation after the match that based on how things went during the match Grimes would be receiving a relatively fast push toward the top of the Smackdown card.
Per Fightful, a lot of higher-ups within WWE including Triple H were said to be very high on Cameron Grimes's work prior to him being called up to the main roster in the 2023 WWE Draft. The report also notes that there were several agents/producers who have worked with Grimes prior to the main roster call-up that was already high on him.
It had been reported that a long-time WWE employee referred to Grimes as a ‘slam-dunk' as he could work various types of matches.
Cameron Grimes was in action for the March 26th edition of Smackdown which has been pre-recorded due to WWE Night Of Champions taking place in Saudi the same week.
